Choosing the right corrosion protection product depends on the type of metal being protected, the exposure conditions, storage or shipping requirements, and the level of protection needed. This guide is designed to help you compare common metals, application environments, and VpCI® corrosion control solutions so you can better identify the right approach for protecting parts, equipment, components, packaging, and finished goods from rust and corrosion.
Application Key
Enclosed. For use in non-ventilated equipment housings, control boxes, or other enclosures. Packaged in cardboard, paper, plastic or metal containers.
Immersion. In addition to Enclosed, Inside, Outside Sheltered and Outside conditions, for use in immersion service in corrosive liquids such as salt water, crude oil, etc.
Inside. In addition to Enclosed conditions, for use in uncovered/inside storage.
CAUTION. Do Not Use Indicated Metals
Outside Sheltered. In addition to Enclosed and Inside conditions, for use in sheltered/outside storage.
Indicates the product is safe to use on specific metal. Consult customer service for application information.
Outside. In addition to Enclosed, Inside and Outside Sheltered conditions, for use in uncovered/outside storage.
